Saint Sushi Bar - Le Plateau-Mont-Royal

If you get to know me, the first thing you will find out is that I'm a sushi fanatic. FANATIC. You could feed me in sushi for the rest of my life and I wouldn't ever complain.

A couple months back I went to Saint Sushi Bar for the first time and I am now on my third time going to this fantastic restaurant. I truly have to love a restaurant to go back to it so quickly, just because I always prefer trying something new.

What makes Saint Sushi Bar so special is the fact that the sushi experience is completely different to anything else I've ever tried. The quality is exquisite, the price is affordable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. You'll quickly become best friends with the waiter/waitress and the sushi makers behind the bar.

Every time I have been to Saint Sushi Bar I have had the "Menu Dégustation" (a.k.a. tasting menu) as I just couldn't pick what to cut out of there. You get 14 pieces for $22 (including taxes!!) which was enough to satisfy my hunger. If you have a big hunger I would recommend getting a little something extra on the side.

The 14 pieces include 2 sashimis in an amazing vinegary sauce with small piece of apple (1 salmon, 1 tuna), 2 "Sapin Noël" which are basically tartare mixes on a rice cracker (1 salmon, 1 lobster), and 10 pieces of sushi. The pieces of sushi can be different every time as it is the chefs choice, but they always included my four favourite rolls:

  • Le Michael Jackson Maki (the fried roll in the back)
  • Le Beatles Maki (the roll surrounded in cucumber with the antennas mushrooms)
  • Le Bob Marley Maki (the colourful roll on the right)
  • Sensei (the roll on the front left)

It is a very small place, so be sure to reserve a little bit in advance to ensure your spot. This gem of a restaurant also offers to take-out orders, I saw tons of them going out every time I've gone.

If you're a sushi fan and want something new and fun, I would definitely recommend Saint Sushi Bar to anybody!

Where?
